Mookie Betts and Brianna Betts (nee Hammonds) know each other from their days in middle school, when they were teenagers.

After welcoming their first child, daughter Kynlee Ivory Betts, in Nov. 2018, the pair exchanged vows in Dec. 2021. In April 2023, the family welcomed another member: a son named Kaj Lynn Betts.

Ahead of Friday's game against the Houston Astros, Kirsten Watson interacted with Betts concerning his recovery. Betts missed baseball action but said his recovery is going well.

"I feel good," Betts told Watson. "Things are coming along good. I feel like I hadn't played baseball in forever. So it's like I'm relearning position, going through bumps and bruises, but that's the fun part. I'm just happy to be back out there."

Betts undertook a rehab assignment on Monday, swinging some balls and also making some reps in the infield.

"I've gotten to swing a little bit, hitting the little, the rubber balls, and then eventually move into some tennis balls and then baseballs and what not," he added.
"So just want to make sure every swing I take, you know, the hand is okay. There's no vibration or anything going on that's going to slow the healing process down."

Before hitting the injured list, from the leadoff spot, Mookie Betts was putting on a show, hitting .304, along with 10 home runs, nine steals and 40 RBIs. The Dodgers will receive an extra boost once the former MVP and two-time World Series champion returns to the lineup.
