The highest-earning female NIL athlete surprised many after she decided to use her fifth and final year to return to LSU and help the Lady Tigers defend the NCAA crown, which they won in April in Fort Worth, Texas. She announced her decision through a social media post where she mentioned she's "Not Dunne yet."
“This past year I found a renewed love of the sport. I had trained a lot in the off season, so I felt really strong and healthy from the start and ready to contribute,” Dunne said.
“I really enjoyed the dynamic of the team this year and it all came together well. Winning the national championships was a great team accomplishment, but I feel like I have more to give as an individual competitor.”
The year 2024 could not have been any better for Dunne. After winning the NCAA championship, Dunne saw a flurry of opportunities come her way, starting with her signing NIL deals with Passes and Nautica. She even featured in the 60th anniversary of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
Moreover, her boyfriend Paul Skenes made his MLB debut and such was his performance that he was named starter of the All-Star game, where he walked the red carpet hand in hand with his partner, Dunne.
