Paul Skenes' girlfriend Olivia Dunne likes sunbathing, and Louisiana offers the perfect conditions for a "backyard tan" this time of the year.
While Dunne is enjoying her time in Baton Rouge, her boyfriend and Pittsburgh Pirates rookie is nearing the end of his rookie season, which had glimpses of his potential from the mound. The frontrunner of the NL Rookie of the Year is likely to make his final start of the season on the road against the New York Yankees.
On Thursday, Dunne shared snaps from the backyard of her stay, wearing red swimwear under an 82°F sun. She also shared a link to her Passes account for those interested in chatting with her.
Dunne is returning for her fifth and final season for the LSU Tigers. She'll be joined by other members, including Haleigh Bryant, Sierra Ballard, Chase Brock and Alyona Shchennikova, all of whom are entering their last year of college eligibility.
Life after college for Olivia Dunne
Unlike football, basketball and baseball, gymnastics don't have professional leagues to turn to. So most gymnasts have to get into other professions. For Olivia Dunne, it's using her knowledge regarding the NIL space and helping other athletes make good use of it.
"Staying in the NIL space is something that I would love to do because I now have so much knowledge about it," Dunne told Flau'jae Johnson on the "Best of Both Worlds" podcast. "This is my fifth year back, and I’ve been doing NIL for four years now. I kind of finally think I’ve got it down, and I think I understand it and how to balance it with everything.
"I know at first it can be confusing for a lot of girls, especially since there aren’t many NIL opportunities for women’s athletics in the first place. So just being able to provide knowledge and help girls out is a dream of mine." [17:12 onwards].
Dunne has already made strides in this field. She is the founder of the Livvy Fund, through which she helps fellow female LSU athletes get NIL opportunities.
