Amid the busy season schedule of the Mexican League, Trevor Bauer and his agent Rachel Luba found time to explore the "charming little city, Merida, in Yucatán." On Wednesday, Luba posted photos from their short get-away in the streets of Merida.
She was joined by Bauer and content creator Kevin Chan. The trio roamed the city of Merida, exploring the streets, culture, local cuisine and other landmarks. Luba found the city so charming that it made it to her top favorite cities she has visited in Mexico.
"Safe to say this charming little city, Merida, in Yucatan has made it into my top fav cities in Mexico 🇲🇽🤌🏻🏰🗿🛵🥮🐴🩷🧡🩵," Luba wrote in her caption.
Trevor Bauer is coming off another stellar outing, where he pitched five scoreless innings and struck out eight hitters.
After the game, fans surrounded the exit of the stadium to interact with Bauer. The situation went "crazy," as Luba said, and they had to pick up Bauer from inside the stadium entrance.
Trevor Bauer thinks MLB is keeping him out
During Tuesday's exchange with Nati Sports on social media, Trevor Bauer offloaded many concerning details reverberating through social media. When asked if he has been contacted by any MLB team for his service, Bauer said that teams have shown interest but have been discouraged to sign him by MLB.
"Well one team told us it's not their decision, it's an mlb decision," Bauer tweeted.
Without naming any franchise, he said that nobody can't sign him, as they don't want the league office to digging out stuff.
"One team told me I was "too expensive" even though I offered to play for minimum, another team told us they have covered some stuff up in the past that they don’t want the media digging into to find out about…" he wrote.
These are big claims made by the former Cy Young winner, who last played in MLB for the LA Dodgers in July 2021.
He was put on administrative leave when his sexual assault allegations made the headlines. Subsequently, the league suspended him for 324 games, which, on appeal were reduced to 194 games, for violating the league's domestic abuse policy.
Although he has been cleared of the allegations placed against him, teams haven't shown interest in him, prompting him to take his service south of the border, playing for Diablos Rojos del México.
