Former MLB pitcher Trevor Bauer added another trophy to his collection after the veteran ace helped the Diablos Rojos del Mexico to clinch the Southern Zone Championship against the Guerreros de Oaxaca. Following the Mexican team's success, Bauer and his agent Rachel Luba celebrated the win with the team in the locker room.
Luba shared pictures with the Diablos Rojos, celebrating with a 'champagne shower' and holding the Southern Zone Championship trophy with former MLB player Robinson Cano.
"Getting to experience the highs and lows with this amazing group of guys has been truly incredible. Congratulations to the Harp Familia — hope they all made you proud," Luba captioned the post.
Rachel Luba highlighted the team's remarkable journey as they were 3-0 down after the first three games of the series. However, they fought back to make it 3-2 after Trevor Bauer's strong performance in Game 5. Bauer struck out 13 hitters and allowed just one run in one of the best playoff performances of his career.
Bauer's agent also gave a shoutout to the former Cy Young Winner as she has been vocal about his return to the MLB since he joined the Mexican team after failing to attract offers from major league teams in the offseason.
Trevor Bauer reflects on crowd support after remarkable turnaroud
While Trevor Bauer's heroics in Game 5 helped the team push the series to a sixth game, the Diablos Rojos del Mexico were on the brink of elimination after being 9-1 down in the top of the fourth inning in Game 6.
However, the home fans rallied behind the team as the hosts completed a remarkable come-from-behind win to take the series to a decisive Game 7.
"They gave us a lot of energy to come back. They have been here all year and they have been fantastic. I really appreciate all the fans and their energy gave the little extra we needed to pull this off," Bauer said of the support from the fans.
Despite pitching less than 48 hours prior, Bauer aided his team's chances in the series finale by pitching out of the bullpen. Bauer pitched four innings of relief as the Diablos Rojos del Mexico walked it off to clinch the championship on Sunday.
