Before Team Cuba's World Baseball Classic (WBC) semi-final game versus the United States started on Sunday afternoon, Cuban jerseys, caps, and flags were displayed on the concourse outside LoanDepot Park. The USA vs Cuba WBC semi-final was interrupted by activists demanding the end of communist rule in the Caribbean nation.
Something happened inside the gates. Meanwhile, dozens of demonstrators holding signs denouncing Cuba's communist government and the political prisoners still held there gathered in front of 15 police officers.
Since the conclusion of the Cuban Revolution in 1959, the Cuban national baseball team has not played in Miami, the city with the greatest Cuban population in the country. It was performed in Little Havana, a district where Cuban immigrants made their own when they started coming in large numbers.
