LA completed a 10-5 victory over the New York Mets on Sunday to book a trip to the World Series after four years, with Smith playing a crucial role. As the players had their penant celebrations in the locker room, Cara Smith along with other Dodgers wives had their own celebration.
Cara, pregnant with her second child, shared some pictures of the wives' celebrations on an Instagram story, with the caption:
"Had our own champagne shower"
Will Smith, selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2016 MLB Draft, made his major league debut with them in 2019. In the next two years, the youngster helped the Dodgers win the World Series to cement his position as the starting catcher.
While he's not among the biggest names in the star-studded lineup, Smith has become a crucial player and proved it once again with his two-run blast on Sunday.
Will Smith met his wife Cara during their college days at the University of Louisville and got married in December 2020 after being engaged for a year. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, Charlotte Ann, in October 2022 and are expecting their second soon.
A former primary school teacher, Cara serves as the co-founder of Catching Hope Foundation, which aims to help underprivileged children develop critical life skills.
