New York Yankees icon Alex Rodriguez will be participating in the upcoming American Century Championship, which will be held at Edgewood Tahoe from Thursday through Sunday. Several big names, including active and retired athletes, and will take part in the celebrity golf tournament.
A-Rod is preparing hard for the upcoming tournament as he posted several pictures from his Day 3 of practice at a golf course. Fans were also present to witness A-Rod and other athletes teeing off at the golf course.
In one of the pictures A-Rod shared, the Yankees star cleared Hole 7/Par 3 with a 172-yard drive followed by a 15-foot putt to score a birdie. He termed it the "Best Shot of the Day."
Amid practice, he also interacted with, signed autographs and posed for photos with fans at the golf course. Here are the pictures from his outing:
Alex Rodriguez will participate in American Century Championship for the first time
This will be Alex Rodriguez's first time participating in the star-studded tournament and he will join the newcomers list, which includes former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, NFL quarterback Trevor Lawrence and former MLB star Albert Pujols.
NBA Hall of Famers Charles Barkley and Ray Allen will be at the event, as well as a host of NFL Hall of Famers. These include Marcus Allen, Jerome Bettis, Tim Brown, John Elway, DeMarcus Ware, Charles Woodson and Steve Young.
Among the personalities from the TV and movie industries are Nate Bargatze, Brian Baumgartner, Don Cheadle, Bobby Flay, Chris Harrison, Colin Jost, The Mix, Alfonso Ribeiro and Larry the Cable Guy.
The American Century Championship will have a prize pool of $600,000 and will help raise money for local and national charities throughout the second half of the week.
Last year, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry took the plaque. However, this year he has opted out of the competition since he will be representing Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This gives opportunity to other celebs who will strive hard to take the hardware home.
