Carlos Rodon has been working hard to bring back the early season momentum of the New York Yankees back in the game again. Amid the intense matches, Rodon decided to rejuvenate himself with his family, as they recently went on a zoo trip.
The Rodon family outing was documented by Rodon's wife Ashley on her Instagram Story. She shared a series of pictures where she posted her kids, husband, and some of the animals that they saw in the Zoo. After the zoo, they also went to see some monuments and spent some time there.
In the first Instagram Story, she posted a photo of her son and daughter with an Ostrich lingering in the background. Her son's picture with American Bison in the background followed this. Her daughter also had a solo feature when she admired baby elephants in the zoo.
Ashley also posted a picture of an Armadillo, with the caption:
"My little buddy."
She also posted a photo of Meerkat, who was directly facing the camera. Then, she took a shot of her husband, Carlos Rodon looking at his phone, while the kids were running in circles with the rain pouring down on them.
"Finished it off with getting poured down," she wrote.
After the zoo, they also visited Lincoln Memorial, where she also quoted, "first timer." She also shared some snaps of her visit to the Washington Monument.
Carlos Rodon must be the breakout player ahead of the playoffs
As of now the New York Yankees pitcher Carlos Rodon has been a bit shaky, since he had a great start with a 2.48 ERA in April, however, it plummeted to a 5.48 ERA with 11 starts in June.
But, things again took a turn after the All-Star break. Rodon is currently slashing a .192 batting average and a 2.67 ERA in six starts. Now, Christopher Hennessey has talked about Rodon being a key player for the Yanks to win the division.
"Rodon has the opportunity to turn it up to another level in September. He'll have one more start in August, Wednesday's game against the Nationals, before September begins," Hennessey wrote.
"Assuming Luis Gil comes back healthy, the Yankees rotation will be set in place for September. Rodon's starts could be spectacular in his normal role and with requisite rest," he added.
Carlos Rodon still has to make his presence in his team and justify his six-year contract with the team. So he needs to turn up to the task in September.
