After getting off to a slow start, Aaron Judge has been nothing short of spectacular. He has the New York Yankees looking fierce, holding the best record across baseball at 48-21.
For Judge, he has gotten some help with the additions of Alex Verdugo and Juan Soto in the outfield. However, he has not let that impact his offensive production this season.
Through 68 games this year, Judge is hitting .309/.437/.712 with 25 home runs and 62 runs batted in. He's on pace to rival the historic season he has in 2022, where he won the American League MVP award.
If it was not for his slow start in the month of April, there's no telling how far ahead the rest of the league Judge would be. He's already on pace to exceed career highs in multiple categories, including doubles, triples, RBIs and walks while holding a 220 OPS+.
Aaron Judge is putting his name in the hat for early MVP consideration
Few players that mean as much to their organization as Aaron Judge does to the New York Yankees. That was evident when the team faltered last season when the slugger was out of the lineup with his toe injury.
Now healthy, nothing is holding him back. He's an early candidate for another AL MVP Award, leading all hitters in home runs, RBIs, OPS and walks. While some thought he would start to fall off after signing his contract in 2022, he has not.
It would be difficult to deny Judge the award if the Yanks continue their dominance and take that to the postseason. With the help of Juan Soto, the Bronx Bombers are a serious contender to win their first World Series title since 2009.
