Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman is set to lead Team Canada in the WBC 2023 next month. He recently spoke of his motivation to perform well for his country as an opportunity to keep his mother's memory alive.
Team Canada has been drawn in the same group with the USA, Mexico, Great Britain and Columbia. Team USA won the last edition of the tournament back in 2017.

They started dating in 2011 when Freeman was into his second season with the Atlanta Braves. They are parents to three boys, Charlie, Brandon and Maximus.

After graduating from the University of Central Florida, she moved on from modelling to starting a fresh career as a realtor in Atlanta, Georgia. She has now ventured into business, launching her clothing line, "Chelsea Freeman Collection," in 2021.

Freddie Freeman ended his 12-year stint with the Atlanta Braves and signed a six-year, $162 million deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
He had a great season, securing his sixth MLB All-Star selection. Freeman went 141 games without taking a rest day till the team emerged champions in the National League West Division.
He posted a slashline of .325/.407/.511, and was the leader across the major leagues with 199 hits and 47 doubles.
