“It’s an organizational failure” - MLB analyst discusses White Sox’s continuous struggle and Pedro Grifol’s questionable tenure

There is no denying that it has been a disastrous year for Pedro Grifol and the Chicago White Sox. Going into Friday, they have lost 17 straight games, easily a franchise worst.

They are easily the worst team in all of baseball, and it is not even close. They stand alone with their 27-84 record, a whopping 40.5 games out of first place in the American League Central.

It has been such an embarrassing season on the Southside that Grifol is sitting on the hottest of seats. The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal recently joined the crew at Foul Territory TV to discuss the manager's uncertain future. He said:

"Obviously, when something like this happens, the manager bares some responsibility, clearly, but it goes far beyond Pedro Grifol, and when a manager is dismissed, the way I often look at it is that it's an organizaitonal failure."

While Grifol has not helped his case, he is not the sole cause of the organization's struggles. However, he is the manager, and much of the failure falls on him. Rosenthal added:

"The organization failed to put a good enough team on the field to have a manager succeed, and while Grifol certainly has not done the greatest job there, and there are all kinds of questions about his tenure, fair questions, at the same time, the White Sox need to clean it up overall."

Rosenthal believes Grifol has been given the short end of the stick. He cannot do much with the roster he was given to start the year, and it has only gotten worse after the trade deadline.

Chicago White Sox manager Pedro Grifol could be fired very soon

Rosenthal believes Grifol could be fired at any point, and was surprised it has not happened already. He is not alone in that thinking, as many insiders believe he will not be in Chicago for long.

During his tenure in Chicago, Grifol has compiled an 88-185 record, and the fanbase has been on edge. They are ready for this season to be over.

While Grifol has yet to be fired, some have already started predicting who may be the team's next manager. One name that has picked up a lot of steam is Miami Marlins manager Skip Schumaker. Another interesting name that has come to light is former White Sox slugger A.J. Pierzynski, but that is only speculation.
