Jack Flaherty may have hit a major stride in his career by winning the World Series with the LA Dodgers in 2024, but he is not resting. Following a season in which he pitched a 3.18 ERA and a 13-7 record, the pitcher is awaiting to know his next destination, as he is currently a free agent.

The Dodgers ace is using the offseason to get better at the nuances of the game, hitting the gym and taking help from Zach Ray, an experienced fitness trainer, at Live Athletics.

On Sunday, Flaherty shared photos from his offseason workout. He could be seen having a discussion with Ray in the images. However, it was his 3-word reaction that caught the attention.

"Diamonds make pressure," he wrote in the caption.

Latest on Jack Flaherty's free agency: multiple teams interested

Several free agent top arms have already found their new destination, clearing the way for Jack Flaherty, who is desiring a long-term deal this offseason. MLB Trade Rumors predicts a deal of $115 million over five years.

The ex-Dodgers pitcher was closely associated with the Baltimore Orioles before they agreed upon a deal with veteran ace Charlie Morton.

According to Mark Feinsand, the Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants and Detroit Tigers “remain in the mix.” It's no surprise not finding the Dodgers among the teams since they are flushed with starting arms.

The Cubs are reluctant to give him a lengthy contract, while the Giants' new president, Buster Posey, believes a good at-bat remains their top priority at this stage in the offseason. The Tigers are also more focused on Alex Bregman, sorting their infield issues. While the Blue Jays have had no serious discussion with the pitcher yet.

While Flaherty had an exceptional season in 2024, he has had an injurious past. He suffered multiple injuries between 2020-22 while struggling on the mound, posting an ERA just below 5.00 in 2023.

Before coming to the Dodgers, the Yankees almost traded for him in June; however, they canceled the deal due to his back concern. With mix priorities among teams reported to be interested in him, it may take a while before Flaherty learns where he is headed next.
