Baltimore Orioles second baseman Jackson Holliday has completed his rookie MLB year, which came with its fair share of ups and downs. Holliday was the number one overall pick in the 2022 MLB draft after receiving a ton of hype coming out of high school.

Jackson Holliday is not the first from his family to make it to the majors, as his father Matt was a seven-time All-Star during his 15-year playing career. Matt Holliday helped teach and nurture Jackson's baseball skills at a young age, and it's clear that the two still share a close bond.

Matt Holliday celebrated his 45th birthday on January 15, and he received plenty of attention from his family. Jackson posted two iconic moments from the former star outfielder on his Instagram stories.

The clips came from an MLB post wishing Matt a happy birthday, and the moments can be viewed below by swiping right.

Matt Holliday belted 316 home runs during his career and also finished his career with a batting average of .299. Meanwhile, Jackson did not have a great rookie campaign as he hit just .189 and was sent back to the minors for a spell after a rough start in Baltimore.

Jackson Holliday's father Matt Holliday shares the importance of faith in their household

Matt Holliday has been training both Ethan and Jackson Holliday to become great baseball players, but there is obviously a lot more to parenting. Matt and his wife Leslee have been very open about their devout faith, and they feel it is an important part of their family.

Matt and Leslee appeared on the "Pure Athlete" podcast back in August, and the former outfielder opened up about teaching his kids about religion.

"Obviously in a perfect world you could find a great church no matter where you are... I think our job as parents is to help our kids know Jesus better but that's not always going to be on Sunday or Wednesday and so that could be any day every day. I think in a healthy relationship they see us pursuing our relationship with Jesus and how do you grow as a Christian."

Meanwhile, Jackson Holliday will soon report to the Baltimore Orioles for his second professional season, and he will be looking to make some iconic moments like his father once did.
