Baltimore Orioles upstart Jackson Holliday knows what it's like to be the top prospect in the game. Holliday was the No.1 prospect per MLB Pipeline ahead of the 2024 season.
In a recent Instagram story, the top pick in 2022 MLB Draft shared a photo of baseball's newest top prospect ahead of the 2025 campaign. Holliday shared a photo of this year's No.1 hitting prospect, Roman Anthony.
Anthony topped the chart for all batters and is ranked second-overall. He's joined by fellow prospect Kristian Campbell who ranks seventh as the Boston Red Sox representative in the Top 10. In total, seven hitters made the cut in this year's edition of the Pipeline's Top 10.
The 20-year-old Red Sox outfield prospect was selected as the 79th overall pick by Boston during the 2022 MLB Draft. He originally committed to play college ball at Ole Miss but chose to sign with the Red Sox when he got drafted.
In three years of playing for the Red Sox' minor league teams, he compiled a .284/.398/.474 slash line with an OPS of .871. Anthony also recorded 32 home runs and 141 runs batted in across 245 games in the minors.
Newly-minted Dodger Roki Sasaki proclaimed as MLB's Top 1 prospect ahead of 2025 season
While Roman Anthony topped the chart for all hitter, newly-acquired NPB phenom Roki Sasaki topped the overall list, touted as the No.1 prospect in baseball this season. Sasaki is joined by Detroit Tigers prospect Jackson Jobe and Philadelphia Phillies prospect Andrew Painter as the only pitchers in the Top 10 list.
At 23, Sasaki has already established an amazing resume during his brief career in Japan's NPB. Known as "The Monster of the Reiwa Era," the fireballer has been named to two NPB All-Star squads, pitched a perfect game, and holds the record for most consecutive strikeouts in a single game with 13.
On April 10, 2022, the young phenom cemented himself in the annals of history when he pitched a perfect game against Masataka Yoshida's Orix Buffaloes. Sasaki tied the NPB's single-game strikeout record with 19 while setting the baseball record for most consecutive punch-outs with 13.
