On the surface, it appears that Jazz Chisholm Jr. and the New York Yankees are a match made in heaven. The Bahamian outfielder/second baseman has been incredible in limited action since being acquired from the Miami Marlins on July 27.
Given the Yankees' offensive struggles in recent weeks, Chisholm Jr. has been a revelation for the club as they have been undefeated since the deal.

Unquestionably, the biggest move that the New York Yankees made before the trade deadline was landing Chisholm Jr. from the Miami Marlins.
As part of the deal, the Yankees sent prospects Agustin Ramirez, Jared Serna and Abrahan Ramirez to Miami. The Marlins had an incredibly active trade deadline, shipping off a number of their veterans in order to build up their farm system for the future.

It's going to be an interesting offseason for the Yankees, particularly considering the pending unrestricted free agency of superstar Juan Soto.
One of the positives about the acquisition of Chisholm Jr. is the fact that he remains under team control until the end of the 2027 season. After losing his arbitration hearing against the Marlins this offseason, Chisholm Jr. will make $2,625,000 this season.
Jazz Chisholm Jr. trade grade for the New York Yankees
Grade: A
It may sound ridiculous to suggest that the Yankees trade for Chisholm Jr. was anything less than an A+. However, recency bias aside, the former Marlins star has been as inconsistent as they come.
True, the All-Star has hit four home runs in three games with the Yankees. However, from a big-picture perspective, these are not the kinds of numbers that he normally produces.
The jump from Marlins Park to Yankee Stadium certainly will help Jazz Chisholm Jr. see an increase in home runs, but not to this level. The Bahamian is the exact type of player that the Yankees needed to put around stars like Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, given his speed and dynamic play.
Another reason why the trade was a huge victory for the Yankees is the cost. The Bronx Bombers were able to land Chisholm Jr.'s services without giving up a top-tier prospect, which is another victory for New York.
