The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame has announced that Jesse Barfield will be inducted as a member of the class of 2023. He joins fellow inductees Lloyd Moseby and George Bell in St. Marys.
Barfield posted a picture featuring the HOF jackets of Bell, Moseby, and his. He wrote that he is “honored” and felt emotional to be inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.

Barfield spent his prime years guarding the outfield for the Toronto Blue Jays together with Bell and Moseby. They were thought to be one of the best trios in the major leagues at the time. The induction ceremony will be conducted on June 17 in St. Marys, Ontario.
Over the course of his nine-season career with Toronto, Barfield hit 179 homers. He also played for the New York Yankees for four seasons. Bell was inducted in 2013 and Moseby in 2018.
Jesse Barfield felt emotional about being inducted into the HOF
Emotions overcame the former player as he said in a video call:
"I knew eventually it would come. I'm not worried about how I got there and how long it took. We're there and that's the main thing."
"The guys that are there now deserve to be there and I knew eventually I would have the chance to get in and it worked out great. I'm still in disbelief with the news of being voted into the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. Being drafted by and then playing for the Blue Jays has always meant so much to me and my family. I'm truly honoured, humbled and speechless right now."
In 1985, Barfield's 27 home runs and 84 RBIs helped the Blue Jays win the American League East for the first time.

Additionally, Barfield contributed 22 outfield assists and 22 stolen bases, and he placed eighth in the MVP voting that year.
