Often overlooked due to the squad that he plays for, Jose Ramirez has established himself as one of the top stars in MLB. Comparing him to his colleagues, Ramirez has been leagues above in terms of accolades during his stint in the majors.

In a recent episode of "MLB Tonight" featuring Boston Red Sox legend Mike Lowell and Adnan Virk, the former had nothing but praise for the Cleveland Guardians' hot corner man.

"He's the crème de la crème of third basemen," Lowell said.

(from 4:30 mark onwards)

A three-time World Series-winning third baseman, Lowell discussed what makes a complete third baseman. After mentioning San Diego Padres star Manny Machado, San Francisco Giants' Matt Chapman and St. Louis Cardinals' Nolan Arenado, Lowell proceeded to pick Ramirez as the best third baseman in the majors.

"In terms of power, speed and run production no one comes close to Jose Ramirez. He's a complete player," he added.

The multiple-time All-Star and Red Sox Hall of Famer also shared that though Ramirez might not have the prototypical build of a speedster, he was just a home run short of joining the 40-40 club that included Shohei Ohtani, Ronald Acuna Jr., Alfonso Soriano, Barry Bonds, Jose Canseco and Alex Rodriguez.

Ramirez finished the 2024 campaign with 39 home runs and 41 stolen bases to go along with 39 doubles, 118 RBIs, a .279/.335/.537 slash line and an OPS of .872.

Jose Ramirez's run of dominance in third base

Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez has almost quietly been on a tear for the past decade. The hot corner star has amassed several accolades that rivals even those of the other third basemen who play for big-market teams.

Ramirez has been selected to the All-Star game six times, won the Silver Slugger Award five times, became a member of the All-MLB First Team in 2024 and was a two-time member of the All-MLB Second Team.

Furthermore, since 2021, Ramirez has generated a total of 24.7 fWAR. He's also 21st among all active major leaguers in career home runs and second among active switch hitters with 255.
