Julio Rodriguez had a decent 2024 season, finishing with a .273 batting average, 20 home runs and 68 RBIs. While being able to contribute with the bat, Rodriguez is also known as an excellent defensive player, often making athletic plays in center field.

With the baseball season now done and dusted, it appears the Seattle Mariners star is fully engaged in soccer action in the ongoing Spanish La Liga. On Sunday, he took to Instagram and shared a post featuring French superstar Antoine Griezmann after he played a starring role in Atletico Madrid's win over Sevilla.

Griezmann scored twice in Sunday's game, with his second goal being the all-important game-winner. Looking to potentially battle powerhouses Barcelona and Real Madrid for the Spanish league title, Griezmann's stellar performance maintained his team's winning streak, helping them keep pace with the two top clubs.

Former Mariners skipper Scott Servais believes Julio Rodriguez is "going to have a great career"

Scott Servais was the manager of the Seattle Mariners in the early months of the season as the team started well and took a sizeable lead in the AL West. However, as the Houston Astros started to perform and the Mariners began to struggle for results after the All-Star break, Servais was relieved of his duties.

Speaking to MLB Network Radio, Servais talked about one of his regulars during his time as skipper, Julio Rodriguez, and how he believes he has the potential to have a successful career in the big leagues.

"People throughout the league know that the talent is there, he's a super talented guy," Servais said on Nov. 15. "He's got all the charisma, all the things you're looking for, for somebody to be that 'star,' so to speak. Julio's very young, he's continuing to mature and grow, and he's going to have a great career, there's no question about it."

The season ultimately ended in disappointment for Rodriguez and the Mariners, as they ended up losing the top spot in the AL West to the Astros, and did not make the playoffs.

For now, Rodriguez can afford to take his mind off the field and focus on getting plenty of rest in the offseason. The focus shifts back to baseball in the new year, with spring training starting in February. The Mariners will be hoping they can right the wrongs of 2024 in the upcoming campaign and earn a postseason ticket for the first time since 2022.
