MLB stars Justin Turner, Shane McClanahan and Kody Klemens are under the same management, Vayner Sports. The trio had different answers when asked what their favorite holiday movie was.
On Monday, Vayner Sports' official Instagram channel shared its clients' favorite holiday movies, with Turner, McClanahan and Klemens being the ones from the MLB. The reveal came via screenshots of their DMs with the management company inquiring:
"Hey [athlete name], What's your favorite holiday movie?"
Justin Turner, a two-time All-Star and a World Series champion with the LA Dodgers but currently a free agent, replied:
"Four Christmases and The Santa Claus."
"Four Christmases" is a 2008 comedy-drama starring Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon, with a supporting cast of Robert Duvall, Jon Favreau and Mary Steenburgen. Directed by Seth Gordon, the film was a commercial success despite the negative critical reception.
Directed by John Pasquin, "The Santa Clause" is a 1994 fantasy comedy starring Tim Allen in the titular role. A critical and commercial success, the film spawned two sequels and a television series, with Allen reprising the role in the sequel and trilogy.
As for Shane McClanahan, the Tampa Bay Rays ace and two-time All-Star nursing Tommy John rehab, the answer was:
"Elf."
The 2003 comedy film, starring Will Ferrell in the titular role, was a critical and commercial success. The supporting cast included James Caan, Zooey Deschanel and Mary Steenburgen.
As for the Philadelphia Phillies infielder Kody Clemens, the answer was:
"Hey, I'd say the Grinch"
The 2018 animated comedy had Benedict Cumberbatch voicing the titular character, with Cameron Seely, Rashida Jones, Kenan Thompson and more playing pivotal secondary characters.
In addition to Justin Turner and baseball players, UFC stars revealed their picks
Vayner Sports is an all-encompassing agency, and as such, they represent athletes from all major sports leagues. They represent UFC women's bantamweight champion Raquel Pennington and men's featherweight contender Josh Emmett.
Like Justin Turner, McClanahan and Klemens, they too revealed their favorite movies to their management company.
For Pennington, the answer was similar to Klemens, as she picked "The Grinch." Funnily enough, Emmet picked "Die Hard," the 1988 action film starring Bruce Willis, and "Bad Santa," the 2003 black comedy film starring Billy Bob Thornton.
In addition to Justin Turner and fellow MLB stars, NBA and NFL players Brandon Miller, Benjamin St-Juste, Evan Thompson, Bryce Johnson, Jordan Fuller, Sam Hartman, Real Woods and Kennedy Blaydes also revealed their favorite Christmas movies.
"Home Alone" and "Friday After the Next" were the movies they picked, other than those chosen by the baseball players and UFC stars.
