The 2024 season culminated with the powerhouse Los Angeles Dodgers smashing their way en route to their 8th World Series title. The Dodgers showcased their high-powered lineup of Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman en route to a five-game victory over the New York Yankees.

Thanks to their main core of players being under contract for several years, as well as the additions of superstars such as Blake Snell, it would be tough to call any other team the World Series favorites heading into 2025. In a post on social media, MLB.com shared their predictions for title winners over the next 10 years, sparking much debate among fans and analysts on Tuesday. While the site has the Los Angeles Dodgers winning again in 2025, they view the New York Mets as the winners in 2026 and the Philadelphia Phillies in 2027.

One baseball analyst who shared his feelings about the predictions is Ben Verlander, brother of future Hall of Fame pitcher, Justin Verlander. The analyst for FOX Sports MLB was confused by some of the choices made in the post.

"I genuinely don’t know what part of this is the craziest" - Ben Verlander shared on social media.

Although there is a chance that Verlander is simply playing it up for his social media followers, there are undoubtedly some bold predictions made about the next 10 years of World Series winners. One of the most bizarre is the site's prediction of the Athletics winning the title in 2034 over the Colorado Rockies.

Only the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets are the only teams predicted to win the title twice over the next 10 years. Other notable predicted winners include the New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners and Baltimore Orioles.

The team is in the middle of a rebuild and while there is a chance that some of their prospects blossom into superstars, it might be a stretch to say that they have a World Series coming their way in the next 10 years.
