Arizona Diamondbacks and Geraldo Perdomo have agreed to avoid arbitration by settling on a $2,550,000 salary for one year. Perdomo, who is in his fourth season, will be under team control for three more seasons and will become a free agent after the 2027 season.

While he is the team's everyday shortstop, the seat may be a little hot with prospect top prospect Jordan Lawlar coming through the ranks. Last year, Perdomo hit .273/.344/.374 batting slash line but could only hit three home runs.

After the news was circulated Thursday, Diamondbacks' star Ketel Marte took to social media to celebrate his teammate Perdomo. Marte shared an Instagram story featuring a photo of Perdomo in action, accompanied by a heartfelt message in Spanish:

"Todavía no es nada. Bendiciones mi hermano @geraldoperdomo93." which translates to "This is just the beginning. Blessings, my brother."

Diamondbacks settles with all nine players to avoid arbitration

Heading into the 2024-25 offseason, the Diamondbacks had nine players eligible for arbitration. However, just like last year, the Diamondbacks and each of these players settled on an annual salary number to avoid hearing.

According to Robert Murray, Zac Gallen and the club settled for a $13.5 million annual salary. He's coming off an excellent season where he went 14-6 with a 3.65 ERA across 28 starts.

Dback reliever A.J. Puk agreed on a $2.95 million salary, according to Jon Heyman. He posted a 1.32 ERA and 0.732 WHIP across 30 appearances for the club.

Josh Naylor, who was acquired via trade this offseason from the Cleveland Guardians, has agreed on a $10.9 million salary, according to Mark Feinsand. The first baseman was part of the trade that sent Slade Cecconi and a competitive balance draft pick in the 2025 MLB Draft the other way.

Naylor hit a batting line of.243/.320/.456 along with a career-high 31 home runs, 108 RBIs, 137 hits and six stolen bases in 152 games played. He also earned his first All-Star selection last year.

Reliever Ryan Thompson agreed to a $3 million salary, according to AZCentral.com’s Nick Piecoro. Thompson recorded two saves while posting a 3.26 ERA and 1.19 WHIP in 67 appearances last season.

Joe Mantiply ($1.7 million), Pavin Smith ($1.5 million), Kevin Ginkel ($2.425 million) and Kyle Nelson ($825,000) have all avoided arbitration as well.
