Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte is originally from the Dominican Republic and has shown that he is a big family man. He often takes his oldest sons with him onto the field during pregame proceedings. Marte is a key member of the Diamondbacks, as evidenced by his winning NLCS MVP during the 2023 season.
Ketel has five children, with his youngest son Kadmiel born in 2021. It will be a while before Kadmiel is able to join him on the field, but Marte is spending a lot of time with him and other members of his family this offseason.
In an Instagram photo posted on his story on Saturday, Ketel is holding his nephew on his lap and posing for a picture. Ketel captioned the photo "El Sobri," which translates to "the nephew" in English.
Ketel Marte's Wife Elisa Shares Holiday Greeting
Ketel Marte is getting to spend some time with his wife Elisa this offseason as well, and it was Elisa who shared a Christmas message to her Instagram followers.
A first cousin of Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Elisa posted a photo of herself and her two sons, all three standing in front of a decorated Christmas tree. The caption was posted in Spanish but translates to a loving message.
"The loves of my life"
Ketel Marte will soon be reporting to the Diamondbacks to get ready for the 2025 season, and he will once again be expected to be one of the top players in the National League. Marte was an All-Star in the National League a season ago and finished third in NL MVP voting.
Despite dealing with an injury in August, Marte still hit 36 home runs and drove in 95 runs. He has continued to show that he is developing power, but he also sported a very solid .292 batting average in 2024.
