LeBron James may have led Team USA to their fifth straight Olympic gold but some seem unhappy about his "likable" status. Among them is former MLB All-Star Zack Cozart, who reacted to one of the viral clips of James' off-field reaction.
James was on his way to a club when a young fan was waiting for him outside his car. When the LA Lakers' star stepped outside, the fan asked to click a selfie, which received a standing-up pin-pointing reaction, probably a denial from LeBron.
A few seconds later, when he was just outside the party, he twerked a little dance step before heading into the party.
This reaction from the basketball star received mixed reactions online. Cozart, the former MLB shortstop, was among those who were not pleased.
"Lebron is the least likable superstar by a mile," Cozart replied on X.
Zack Cozart made his MLB debut in June 2011 for the Cincinnati Reds, who drafted him in the second round of the 2007 draft. He stayed there till the 2017 season, earning one All-Star selection in 2017. He then signed with the LA Angels on a three-year, $38 million contract ahead of the 2018 season.
Injuries derailed his career from there on as the Angels dealt him away to the San Francisco Giants, who then released him in January 2020. His career batting average was .247 and he had 87 homers to his name.
Netizens slam LeBron James for his reaction towards the young fan
Joining Zack Cozart online were many fans who thought it was rude of LeBron James to sideline the kid only to go ahead and dance.
"Yelling at a lil kid is crazy😭" one fan commented.
"Broke that kids heart," another added.
Few compared him to other basketball greats, saying they would have never reacted this way.
"Kobe & Jordan would never," one fan posted.
"This is why Jordan is the goat. He never let his fans hang high and dry," another wrote.
"Dancing 10 seconds later😭😭😭😭🤣🤣," another fan said.
"Dudes easily the most unlikeable player in the NBA, and that’s saying something! 🥴" another added.
LeBron James' reaction seems to have caused a stir among the public in terms of his status.
