Amongst all active MLB players, San Diego Padres star Manny Machado leads the list for most home runs hit in the past decade. Per StatMuse, the Padres' de facto smacked 176 home runs since 2015. This gives him the top spot over New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge and St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado who have 164 and 162, respectively.

Since 2015, Machado has tallied seven 30-home run seasons. His most productive year came in 2018 during his separate stints with the Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Dodgers. The star slugger tallied 37 home runs with a slash line of .297/.367/.538. Although he's yet to break 40 home runs in a season, his consistency on the field has been top-notch.

After Manny Machado is Yankees superstar Aaron Judge. The two-time American League MVP is handicapped on the list as he started in the majors in 2016. He has notably played fewer seasons and games (due to injury) compared to Machado and Arenado, but Judge has cemented himself as the best hitter in the American League with 164 home runs in the past decade.

Judge already has three 50-home run seasons under his belt. His most prolific campaign occurred in the 2022 season wherein he smashed 62 home runs – breaking the American League single-season home run record by Yankee great Roger Maris.

Next up on the list is multiple-time Platinum Glover Nolan Arenado. The Cardinals third baseman has tallied 162 home runs since 2015. The majority of his dingers came during his time with the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. Apart from his generational defensive abilities, Arenado has led the National League in homers on three separate occasions. He also recorded four 40-home run campaigns to boot.

Manny Machado breaks Padres home run record

In his short stint with the Padres, Manny Machado has already cemented himself amongst the club greats. On Sept. 10, 2024, Machado further etched his name in San Diego sports lore by breaking the Padres' all-time career home run record.

Machado hit a two-run shot off Seattle Mariner George Kirby that placed him over Padres Hall of Famer Nate Colbert. At the moment, Machado leads the list with 167 home runs over the likes of Adrian Gonzalez, Phil Nevin, Hall of Famer Dave Winfield and "Mr. Padre" himself, Tony Gwynn.
