Marcell Ozuna has completely stepped it up for the Atlanta Braves this season as needed. They have dealt with a ton of injuries this season, but none bigger than losing Ronald Acuna Jr. for the season.

Acuna Jr. tore his ACL for a second time in his career earlier in May, leaving Atlanta with a huge hole. Despite that, the club is still in the mix for a postseason spot later this year.

Much of their success has come from Ozuna, who is having an incredible power season. Hall of Fame pitcher Tom Glavine joined Jeff Blair and Kevin Baker of Sportsnet's Blair and Barker podcast to discuss the incredible run.

"If there is one guy that stirs the drink, particularly offensively, it's Marcell Ozuna. He's just had an unbelievable year," - said Glavine.

Through 133 games this year, Ozuna is hitting .309/.382/.583 with 37 home runs and 98 runs batted in. He has been a complete rock for this team, as they have taken a hit this year.

"To see the start that Marcell got off to last year, where by middle of May, there were calls for him getting released.. And then all of a sudden, end of May, a trip down to Miami in South Beach he turned things around, and since that point in time, he's been unbelievable. He's very much in the MVP discussion this year" - said Glavine.

There is no denying the impact Marcell Ozuna has had on the Braves this season. He has been the man to rely on at the plate during a season of injuries to their core players.

Glavine is correct, Ozuna has put his name in the hat for National League MVBP contention, but he has his work cut out for themselves. According to FanDuel, he has the third lowest odds (+3500) to win the award.

New York Mets slugger Francisco Lindor has the second lowest odds, sitting at +1100. Many fans could have already guessed who holds the lowest odds: Shohei Ohtani (-6000).

Ohtani is starting to run away with this one, and Ozuna has little time to close that gap. It would be tough for anyone to do anything special enough to overpass what Ohtani has done this season.
