Thanks to the heroics of slugging infielder Mark Vientos, the New York Mets were able to even out their National League Championship Series with the LA Dodgers. Vientos came up huge in the clutch as he launched a massive grand slam in the top of the second inning which helped secure the 7-3 victory.

Although he stepped up in a pressure situation, it was not exactly something that the Dodgers expected. They opted to intentionally walk Francisco Lindor to load the bases and face Vientos. However, the decision backfired for Dodgers manager Dave Roberts.

When asked after the game about intentionally walking Lindor, Vientos told Tom Verducci of FOX Sports that he "took it personal." This is something that hit well for his former teammate Tommy Pham, who posted an Instagram story and praised him.

"My dawg. Success is the best revenge, keep balling"

Given the fact that Pham is not shy about sharing his feelings, there is a chance that his post was not only to congratulate Vientos but also a shot at the Dodgers.

Either way, Mark Vientos' grand slam has rejuvenated him and the New York Mets in the NLCS after a disappointing Game 1 which saw them fall 9-0. Game 3 will be on Thursday night at Citi Field in Queens, New York.

Mark Vientos' grand slam is the latest highlight fof his breakout season for the Mets

Vientos has been one of the top prospects for the Mets since they selected him in the second round of the 2017 MLB draft; however, he was only able to live up to his potential this season. The third baseman put it all together this year and helped the Mets complete their season turnaround.

Through 111 games, Vientos set new career highs across the board as he has recorded a .266 batting average with 27 home runs, 71 RBIs and a .837 OPS. If he can continue his strong postseason rolling, the Mets might have a superstar to build around for the future.
