Max Fried Injury Update: All-Star pitcher set to return tomorrow in Marlins game, per manager Brian Snitker - Source: Imagn

Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker dropped a major Max Fried update that will excite Atlanta fans. Ahead of the team's game against the Miami Marlins on Saturday, Snitker told reporters that the two-time All-Star will start Sunday's game against the Marlins as the team plans to remove the pitcher from the 15-day injured list.

To make room for him on the roster, the Braves will need to remove someone from the active roster. The southpaw has been on the injured list since July 21 due to forearm neuritis. His addition to the rotation will propel the already strong pitching of the Braves, who are witnessing a surge in their hitting as well.

"Yeah, I'm glad we're getting him out, that the sides went well, and he feels good, and he's excited about getting out there, because you want to get him out there as quick as you can, so they're not so far away from the last one," Snitker told reporters.
"And we'll kind of, again, let him just see how he gets to where he's going in the game, and stressful innings and stuff like that, but I just think getting him out there for this one, it's going to be really good," he added.

Max Fried will face pitching duel with Edward Cabrera

For Sunday's game against the Marlins, Max Fried will face a depleted lineup of the Marlins, who traded some of their star players at the deadline. Edward Cabrera is expected to start the game for the Marlins. He has gone 1-3 across 43.1 innings while posting a 6.65 ERA.

Brian Snitker mentioned that they'll be taking a cautious approach to his return and it is likely that Max Fried will be on some pitch count. In his last start, Fried pitched six scoreless innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He has gone 7-5 in 18 starts, posting a 3.08 ERA and 1.16 WHIP.

Fried would like to get back to his pre-injury form and help the Braves fight off NL Wild Card contenders and especially divisional rivals, the New York Mets, who have been doing well of late.
