Jazz Chisholm Jr. and the New York Yankees are coming off a 4-2 defeat in the Bronx as the Kansas City Royals prevailed in Game 2 of the ALDS. It was a strong comeback from the Royals as both clubs head to Kauffman Stadium next for Game 3.

The Yanks were up 1-0, but Rodon's outing was not up to the mark as the Royals smashed four runs to secure the win. Jazz Chisholm Jr. went deep from the plate at the bottom of the ninth inning to cut the lead in half.

While the Royals fought hard to win the game, Chisholm believes that the team had got lucky since the Yankees had several missed opportunities.

"Still feels the same that we're going to win it... We still don't feel like any other team is better than us. We had a lot of missed opportunities tonight, so they just got lucky," Chisholm said in a postgame interview via Fox Sports MLB.

While some fans applauded him for his confidence, others called out the slugger for boasting before they could win.

Here's a look at some reactions from fans on X/Twitter:

"Luck? Sounds like copium. Maybe focus on plays, not boasts, Jazz," wrote one fan.
"Says the guy whose team only has a win because of a missed replay review," another fan responded.
"Hitting meaningless homers and talking meaningless trash is not how you do it," another fan chipped in.
"This is going tripple platinum when we lose the series," one fan added.
"Not very smooth, Jazz," wrote one fan.
"Crazy how unlikeable a fun player becomes when they join the Yankees," and fan chimed in.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. hits 11th home run in pinstripes

Chisholm was traded to the Yankees after the All-Star break, and he has settled down well with the team. Chisholm smashed his 11th home run in pinstripes against Lucas Erceg.

Chisholm has a .273 batting average with a .325 OBP and an OPS of .825. He drove in 28 runs and recorded 23 RBIs in 176 appearances at the plate. The former Marlins slugger has become a crucial part of the Yankees squad.

Game 3 of the ALDS takes place at Kauffman Stadium on Wednesday.
