LA Dodgers stars Mookie Betts and Jack Flaherty are the latest to give their two cents on the ongoing beef between rappers Kendrick Lamar and Drake. The two rappers have been at each other's throats for over a decade now. Their feud re-escalated in March after Lamar released the diss track "Like That" directed at Drake and J. Cole's song "First Person Shooter."
During a conversation with Flaherty on "On Base with Mookie Betts," the Dodgers slugger asked the ace to pick the "correct side" between the two rappers. Flaherty said:
"I mean, I'm on Kendrick's side, but I'm sure somebody could argue against it. I'll let somebody argue against me, but I'm gonna sit on my side. Maybe I am sitting on the, there's only one side — I'm a Kendrick fan. I'm also a Drake fan. I mean, I'm a Kendrick and Drake fan.
"When you see what Kendrick did, when you see what he did with the city, when he did his little pop-up show and had everybody out there playing it over and over again, you can't say he didn't win."
Following Lamar's diss, Cole responded with "7 Minute Drill." However, he later apologized and removed the track from streaming platforms. Talking about Cole, Flaherty and Betts agreed that it was wise of him to bow out of this feud.
"Cole bowed out," Betts said.
"Cole, that was, I think that was one of the smartest things. I don't know what he knew, but he knew something when he was like, 'I'm out. I'm not doing it,'" Flaherty added.
Mookie Betts agrees with Flaherty's perspective for siding with Kendrick Lamar
As the conversation continued, Mookie Betts also shared his two cents on the ongoing feud.
"I think I kind of agree with that, man. Kendrick went crazy. Once he did the show, once he did the pop-up show, and he had all those people there," Betts said.
Through their diss tracks, both Kendrick Lamar and Drake have laid several allegations against each other.
Drake, through "Family Matters" in May, accused Lamar of domestic abuse and even alleged that filmmaker and producer David Free fathered one of Lamar's children.
On the other hand, Lamar, through his diss track "Meet the Grahams," accused the Canadian rapper of sex trafficking and fathering a secret child. Moreover, in his next diss track, "Not Like Us," Lamar alleged Drake of pedophilia.
The two rappers have only continued with their accusations, leaving many celebrities to take sides.
