Miami Marlins fans react to Jazz Chisholm Jr. leaving game after suffering injury sliding headfirst into second base: "Well baseball sucks today"

Miami Marlins outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. had to leave Wednesday afternoon's ballgame while sliding into second base. The club has announced that he is receiving treatment and that his status is day-to-day.

Chisholm injured himself while attempting to steal second base. He got jammed up underneath Minnesota Twins second baseman Kyle Farmer while sliding headfirst.

Chisholm was slow to get up before being helped by the medical staff. The good news is that he was able to walk back into the dugout underneath his own power.

An injury is the last thing he wants to deal with right now. He dealt with a stress fracture in his lower back last year that limited him to 60 games last season.

"Well baseball sucks today," one fan tweeted.
"MLB The Show cover curse?" another fan tweeted.

Baseball fans aren't happy to see Jazz Chisholm Jr. go down with an injury. He's one of the more electric players in the game. The sport is better when he is healthy and playing.

Fans hope Chisholm's injury is minor and he was taken out of the game as a precaution. The Miami Marlins will need him in the lineup if they want to compete in the division.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. is a sparkplug for the Marlins

Jazz Chisholm Jr. is the sparkplug that ignites this team. He's a five-tool player who can impact the game at any time in multiple different ways.

Not many players with little experience in the outfield volunteer to play the position, but that's the type of player he is. He told the Marlins' front office that if they didn't find an outfielder in the offseason, he would take up the position. He's never played the position, but that didn't stop him. He wants to help his team no matter what.

The only downside to his game is his injuries. During his three MLB seasons, he's only played over 60 games once. It's hard to imagine what his statistics would be if he could manage a full season, especially last year. He hit 18 home runs while playing just 60 games. It could have been a monster year if it wasn't for his back.

For Miami's sake, hopefully, Chisholm won't miss much time. They'll need him in the lineup to compete with the Atlanta Braves in the National League East this season.
