Miguel Cabrera has announced that he will be retiring from Major League Baseball at the end of the 2023 season. Cabrera is one of the most accomplished players in the history of the sport. The Venezuelan slugger has amassed an incredible list of achievements over the course of his career and has been a key player for two World Series teams.
Miguel Cabrera has played in two World Series during his career, although he has only won one. His first appearance in the series came in 2003, when he was just 20 years old and a member of the Florida Marlins. Cabrera played a key role in the Marlins' championship run that year, hitting .265 with four home runs and 12 RBIs during the playoffs, where they finally beat the New York Yankees in six games.
Cabrera's second appearance in the MLB World Series came in 2012, when he was a member of the Detroit Tigers. Although he had an exceptional regular season that year, winning the American League Triple Crown, his performances in the playoffs were not enough to lead the Tigers to the championship. He hit .231 with two home runs and nine RBIs during the playoffs, but the Tigers lost the series to the San Francisco Giants in four games.
