The Chicago White Sox added a 9-0 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday to their dismal record, which now stands at 31-109. However, this wasn't the only embarrassing thing that happened to the team.

In the 2nd inning, Orioles DH Eloy Jimenez was at-bat and popped the ball into the air. In their attempt to catch the ball, White Sox 2B Miguel Vargas and outfielder Andrew Benintendi collided against each other.

This took place in the bottom second when the Orioles already had a four-run lead over the White Sox and the bases loaded. So because of Vargas and Benintendi's collision, three more O's runs scored.

This perfectly represents Chicago's current status in the league, and Miguel Vargas had to leave the game after the brutal collision. The fans felt pity for the Chicago White Sox, as they witnessed a disaster live.

"[Miguel] Vargas might just retire at this point," one fan said.

"I’m getting second, third, and fourth hand sadness watching this team," another fan expressed.

Some other fans also shared the same sentiment about what happened at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, with a couple questioning the ChiSox players' fielding skills.

"It looked scary as hell live. Tbh it almost happened in center in the first. What’s so hard about saying and hearing “I got it?”" one fan wrote.
"How do you as a 3rd baseman keep going for that ball lol," one fan mentioned.
"They make the 2018 orioles look like the 1927 Yankees lol," one fan opined.

White Sox interim manager talks about Miguel Vargas and Andrew Benintendi's miscommunication

With their loss to the O's, the Chicago White Sox are now on a 12-game losing streak and have lost 109 games this season. Besides the Miguel Vargas and Andrew Benintendi collision, there was another blunder that took place this Tuesday night.

It was in the sixth inning when Lenyn Sosa replaced Vargas, and Benintendi was ejected, Sosa shied away from a catch, and the ball landed in between three fielders and gave away a single.

Chicago's interim manager Grady Sizemore addressed the Vargas-Benintendi gaffe post-game.

"Just got to communicate. That's Benintendi's ball," Sizemore said per the Daily Herald. "Sometimes you just don't hear the guy calling for it."

However, Sizemore is trying to stay optimistic and believes that his team can only get better from here.

"There was balls that were being called strikes and strikes being called balls, for both teams," he added. "I get it. The game's getting out of control, we're down a lot. But our guys are still hitting. They're not trying to give up their at-bats."

With 22 games left in the season, the White Sox are hoping to avoid becoming the team with the most losses under the belt in the Modern Era. The record is currently held by the 1962 New York Mets with a total of 120 losses.
