Los Angeles Angels insiders Jon and Mike Frisch recently discussed the Angels' long-term plans. While former MVP Mike Trout struggled to remain healthy this season, youngsters Zach Neto and Nolan Schanuel played larger roles for the Angels.

Meanwhile, the LAA youth movement gained momentum this fall as numerous players debuted with the club. Although Los Angeles sits in the AL West cellar, its rebuild has brought promising players into the team's rotation.

On Monday's edition of the Locked on Angels Podcast, the Frisch brothers praised the team's emerging talent but tempered the group's 2025 expectations. (11:00)

"As much progress as we've seen from the young guys, you have to consider, that next year, if we infuse this team with your Danas, your Aldegheris and your Kochanowicz, it's also their first full season, even Christian Moore. It's also going to be a lot of the team's first full year."
We've seen it with the veterans too, Mike Trout can't complete a full year because he's always been hurt. These young guys, you can see the burnout when they play out there. I feel like, as hopeful as you want to be for 2025, this team is going to be infused with a lot of new, young talent, doing this for the time. That's a lot of what the situation was this year in 2024."

Mike Trout named Angels candidate for 2024 Roberto Clemente award

The Los Angeles Angels nominated Mike Trout for the 2024 Roberto Clemente Award. Each major league club nominates one player every year for the honor.

The Roberto Clemente Award is given to the player who best represents the game of baseball through outstanding character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions.

The Angels announced their nomination Monday on X.

Trout displays philanthropic zeal and works with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to support children who are undergoing treatment for serious illnesses. Mike and his wife Jessica also donate time and ressources to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).

The Angels will honor Trout and Roberto Clemente Day during a pre-game ceremony on September 15th before their game with the Houston Astros.
