Francisco Lindor took ball four and walked to first base to get things started. The Mets took to an early start at the top of the first inning as Brandon Nimmo drove in a run with a base hit. However, Jackson Chourio went deep to tie the game at the bottom of the first.
The Mets fought hard in the second inning as they racked up two runs to give the team a 3-1 lead. The Brewers managed to score one in the fifth inning and made several pitching changes. The Mets retired Manaea after five innings and brought in Reed Garrett.
The Mets squandered their lead at the bottom of the eighth as Chourio sent one to the stands. Following Chourio was Garrett Mitchell with a two-run blast. Despite their tough in-field defense, the Brew Crew took advantage of the Mets by smashing home runs.
