The Houston Astros came under fire for cheating during the 2017 season. Interestingly, an unidentified source has come forward to claim the Los Angeles Dodgers also cheated. The source claimed the Dodgers cheated in the 2018 World Series and may have in the 2017 Series as well. They lost both series so the alleged cheating did nothing to help them.
The info reportedly comes from Evan Drellich's book, "Winning Fixes Everything," in which he exposes the details of the reporting on the '17 Astros cheating scandal.
Roosh Williams, a notable Houston sports fan, tweeted:
"So the Dodgers cheated in the World Series multiple times and still lost? Complained about the Astros cheating even though they tried it too…and got whooped in the process? It truly sucks to suck. And the Houston Astros are still your 2017 & 2022 World Series champions (forever)."
He also said:
"Evan Drelich’s book came out with new info about an unidentified Red Sox player talking about the Dodgers cheating in the 2018 World Series."
This is shocking news if it is true. The world came down hard on the Astros for cheating, and there's at least a possibility that the Dodgers did so, too. MLB fans are shocked and not convinced, and Astros fans feel vindicated by this report.
It's safe to say there is no love lost between the Dodgers and Astros, even six years later.
MLB cheating scandals: What to make of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros, Boston Red Sox and others
The MLB world is pretty divided over this news. Unnamed sources haven't always been the most credible, and as many fans pointed out, Astros fans may be desperate to believe they're not the only guilty party.
On the other hand, cheating has occurred across baseball in various formats. The Astros' cheating scandal was one of the most complex, but it very likely wasn't the only one.
The Red Sox were accused of cheating in the 2018 season and World Series. The Yankees were found to have been using Apple Watches to relay signs, another form of cheating.
It happens frequently and it very well may have been used by the Los Angeles Dodgers, but to no avail.
