The Los Angeles Dodgers have reversed their decision to drop plans to honor the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a prominent group of trans nuns. After facing significant criticism for their initial stance, the Dodgers have issued a public apology and re-invited the LGBTQ+ group to participate in their 10th Annual LGBTQ+ Pride Night on June 16.
After receiving severe backlash for dropping their plans to honor the group, the LA Dodgers have finally taken a decision that sits well with the whole baseball community.
The LA Dodgers posted a public statement explaining their decision:

MLB fans on Reddit were split about the decision that the team had made. While some were glad that the team realized its mistake, others were not happy with the LA Dodgers giving in and inviting the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to the event.

"Common Manfred L. Let's not forget that he was the one who reached out to the Dodgers and told them to placate the Catholic League. One of various embarrassments from Manfred this year," - one fan wrote.

"Yeah. It takes a lot to make people admit mistakes these days. Props to them for that. But this could not have been handled in a more clunky way," another fan commented.

Who are the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence that will be honored by the LA Dodgers?

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are an international organization established in San Francisco in 1979. They are a self-described "order of 21st-century nuns" who use humor, camp, and drag to spread joy, challenge stereotypes, and promote tolerance and diversity within their communities.
The Sisters, who are primarily gay men, don religious-inspired attire, including habits, wimples, and face paint, often incorporating unconventional and flamboyant elements. They have become symbols of LGBTQ+ activism and work to raise awareness and fight for social justice causes.
Beyond charity events and parades, the Sisters engage in community outreach, providing support and resources to those in need, with a particular focus on the LGBTQ+ community. They have dedicated themselves to combating homophobia, transphobia, and bigotry in all its forms, advocating for love, acceptance, and equal rights for all.
