There were plenty of in-game injuries on Saturday for teams in contention that must have been a big scare for their playoff chances. Here's looking at all the updates from around the ballparks.
#1. Trent Grisham exits game early vs. Rangers after HBP
Rangers pitcher Brock Burke hit New York Yankees outfielder Trent Grisham on the left hand with a 96-mph fastball in the first game of a Saturday doubleheader in New York.
Grisham was left out of the Yankees' second game, which they lost 9-4. Initial X-rays and CT scans were negative, indicating that the outfielder had avoided a significant setback.
Grisham is hitting .191 in 152 at-bats this season, with 24 RBIs and seven home runs.
#2. Dodgers starter River Ryan leaves mound due to injury
The Dodgers were able to fend off a start by Paul Skenes but their rookie starter, River Ryan, couldn't earn the victory himself. Ryan left the game after 4.2 scoreless innings. Ryan was shaking his hand constantly during the fifth inning of the game. He suffered right forearm tightness. As per Ryan, the discomfort started in the third innings, which he tried to nurse with a massage gun.
This complicates the rotation situation even further for the Dodgers, who have players like Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the shelf. Ryan, himself, was a replacement from the minor leagues and had posted a 1.33 ERA over his four starts so far.
#3. D-backs suffer two setbacks in-game but receive positive updates
Arizona Diamondbacks fans had a tense situation when they saw Ketel Marte and Zac Gallen leave in back-to-back innings during their outing against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Marte left in the fourth during a defensive play when Garrett Stubbs slid into him, while starter Zac Gallen's attempt to grab a comebacker on the mound saw him leave the game.
The team shared that Marte had a minor left ankle contusion and would be fit to feature in Monday's game, while Gallen had just minor cramping, which would be nursed before his next start.
