Less than a month away from Spring Training, Jurickson Profar and Pete Alonso are still free agents, leading analyst Robert Murray to explore their fit with the Los Angeles Angels.

Both sluggers are seasoned veterans who are in their early thirties and have plenty left in their tanks. Discussing the possibility of either going to the Angels, Murray gave his take on The Baseball Insiders: (7:55 - 9:37)

"I don't think Pete Alonso is a real strong option for the Angels ... As far as the Angels go, they have poked around the offensive side this winter, even after getting Jorge Soler. ... You wonder if a guy like Jurickson Profar could end up making some sence there, but I've heard a bunch of different teams connected to Profar.
"So he's got a strong market, it's going to be a robust market for a guy like Profar. I don't know if the Angels are going to have the appetite to give him the contract that he's gonna eventually go get. But I think if the opportunity presented itself, then I could see the Angels dipping into the offensive side. I just don't necessarily know how likely it is at this point."

Having originally started his MLB career with the Texas Rangers in 2012, Jurickson Profar had his first stint with the San Diego Padres from 2020 to 2022 before re-joining them in 2023. He's coming off a career season last year, making his first All-Star appearance and winning a Silver Slugger award.

Profar and Pete Alonso have been linked to several teams in the last few days. The Toronto Blue Jays and the Los Angeles Angels in particular have been rumored to be interested in adding a power hitter to their lineup. Only time will tell what the future holds for them.

MLB insider reports the Blue Jays are interested in signing Jurickson Profar and Max Scherzer

Having signed outfielder Anthony Santander to a five-year, $92.5 million, deal just days earlier, the Toronto Blue Jays have been heavily linked to several other free agents.

MLB insider Carlos Baerga has reported that the Toronto front office are nearing an agreement with both Jurickson Profar and Max Scherzer:

"Well my people according to my sources Outfielder Jurickson Profar and Max Scherzer could be signing with the Toronto team."

After chasing several big names in the recent past, the Blue Jays have finally landed a big name in Santander and are eager to add to their roster. Both Profar and Scherzer are good options, which will help them to be more competitive in the MLB this year.
