The Atlanta Braves have had a tremendous amount of success during the MLB draft. Thanks to the team's success in the draft, the Braves have developed a number of their former top prospects into MLB stars. Although selecting prospects is never an easy job, the Braves have found success time and time again.
The team has landed a number of its key players in the draft, including Austin Riley and Spencer Strider. Other players that the team has selected have become important pieces in notable trades such as Shea Langeliers, who the team used to acquire Matt Olson.
"Looking back at this trade two years later is hilarious. Braves pretty much stole Matt Olson" - @GonsolinRBW
This year, the Atlanta Braves will have the No. 24 overall pick, which the team could use to bolster their farm system. Although it is difficult to predict which players will be available at the No. 24 pick, they could look to add a promising pitcher to join their system.
Kash Mayfield could be an intriguing target for Braves in the 2024 MLB draft
If Atlanta GM Alex Anthopoulos and the front office were looking to add an interesting young arm to their pitching staff, Kash Mayfield could be worthy of a closer look. A 6-foot-4, 200 lbs southpaw, Mayfield has the build that could catch the eye of teams across the MLB.
The two-way player from Elk City, Oklahoma was electric for his high school team this season, winning the Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year Award for his exploits. He has already committed to playing for Oklahoma State next year as he looks to continue his development.

Mayfield was simply dominant, posting an unfathomable 0.16 ERA with 115 strikeouts over 44 innings of work. He is a few years away from being MLB-ready, however, he is the type of young talent that the Atlanta Braves could look to add with the No. 24 pick of the MLB draft.
