Saturday night saw a lot of action in the MLB, both on and off the pitch. With the deadline approaching, many high-profile trades were conducted while both the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Boston Red Sox saw themselves into tight encounters.

#1 Dodgers drop game 2 at Minute Maid Park

It will be an understatement to say that the Astros have been in good form. They are playing like the best team in baseball, and their record proves that.

After Saturday's win against the Dodgers, Houston are 21-9 in their last 30 games. But it isn't just racking up the wins, it has also been about how they have won these games.

After packing off LA in a one-way encounter in game 1, the Astros came from behind to take Game 2 of the series at home. Los Angeles raced to a 5-0 lead in the fifth that was erased quickly.

Shohei Ohtani hit two RBIs, including his 32nd homer of the season. With the scores level at 6-6 in the ninth, Alex Bregman hit a solo shot to end the game.

#2 Yankees level series in Boston

Like the Dodgers, even the Yankees were looking to tie their series against divisional rivals, Boston Red Sox.

Aaron Boone's team were victorious in a wild game that had 29 hits. Aaron Judge reached base six times with a lead-extending 37th home of the season. Juan Soto, too had a solo shot of his own.

In a see-saw battle, the Red Sox led 8-7 heading into the ninth. Trent Grisham drove in a run to send the game into extra innings. Austin Wells and Gleyber Torres scored three runs in the 10th to close out the game 11-8 in favour of the visitors.

#3 Jazz Chisholm Jr. traded to Yankees

The Miami Marlins fire sale continued, as they dealt star outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. to the Yankees.

The center fielder, who also has experience at second base and shortstop, is batting at .249 with 13 home runs and 50 RBIs. New York could use his versatility, as he's an utility player in different positions.
