MLB reveals winning bid for Aaron Judge’s infamous dropped ball in Game 5 of World Series

New York Yankees star Aaron Judge made a costly error during Game 5 of the World Series. Typically a sure-handed outfielder, the six-time All-Star let a routine fly ball bounce off his glove.

The error went on to cost his club five runs as the Los Angeles Dodgers quickly pounced on the mistake. They went on to win that game and close out their series for their eighth WS title.

That ball was put on the auction block for the public to bid on. The auction ended on Thursday, and ended up being sold for a whopping $43,510.

According to Brooks Peck of The Athletic, the auction was up for 10 days where it saw 101 bids. That is quite a high amount of bids for a non-home-run ball, but there is no denying the significance of the baseball.

It has been a rough few months for Aaron Judge and the Yankees

Things have not been going great for Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees lately. They lost the World Series which makes for one long offseason to think about everything that went wrong.

The club also headed into the offseason not knowing the future of Juan Soto. The Yanks made him their priority, but so did plenty of other teams, putting them in a tough spot.

They just learned they had lost out on him after he signed his 15-year, $765 million contract with the New York Mets this week. Now, the club has to shift its priorities and fill the necessary holes like finding a Soto replacement and figuring out what they are doing at first base.

Expect the Bronx Bombers to move aggressively in free agency soon. They have the money to spend and would hate to lose out on another elite free agent this winter.
