In case you have not yet heard, the Miami Marlins are not making the postseason. In addition to sporting the worst record in the National League, Miami ranks 24th in hits, 29th in runs scored, and 30th in home runs registered.

As such, the prevailing attitude is that it is time for a rebuild in Miami. That likely began with the team dealing former MLB batting champ Luis Arraez to the Padres in May and is only likely to expedite in the run-up to the July 30 trade deadline. Today, we will be examining the club's top possible trade pieces.

Three Miami Marlins Players Primed for a Trade

3. Jesus Luzardo

Peruvian southpaw Jesus Luzardo looked as though he was showing signs of improvement after his 2021 move from the Oakland Athletics to the Miami Marlins. However, virtually nothing has gone Luzardo's way this season.

Already 3-6 with a 5.00 ERA, Luzardo is now set to miss about another month with a lumbar stress reaction. However, between 2022 and 2023, the 26-year-old pitched to a commendable 3.48 ERA with Miami. When he's healthy, a lot of teams would like an effective starter like Luzardo, and with his one-year, $5.5 million deal set to expire, the Marlins have little reason to retain him.

2. Josh Bell

The Miami Marlins are veteran first baseman Josh Bell's fourth club since 2022. Each time, he has been acquired in hopes that he could repeat his 37-home run, 116-RBI 2019 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates, but disappointment has prevailed.

Nearly 32 years old, Bell's .289 on-base percentage threatens to be the first figure of his MLB career under .300. Moreover, it does not look like Bell's eight home runs will come close to the 22 he recorded last year.

Set to become a free agent at the end of the season, dealing the former Silver Slugger to a young, but contending team like the Guardians or Orioles for prospects looks like the best move from a Miami Marlins standpoint.

1. Jazz Chisholm Jr

The hype surrounding Miami infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. has waned significantly since his breakout season in 2021. Since then, the 26-year-old Bahamian has failed to compete in 100 games in a season and is seen as an injury liability.

Now, the time has come for President of Baseball Operations Peter Bendix to face the reality that Jazz Chisholm will never be the team's franchise player. Still young enough to have a promising career elsewhere, the Phillies and New York Yankees have been named as possible contenders already.
