With training for the World Baseball Classic underway, MLB stars are practicing against players from other leagues. The best example is five-time All-Star pitcher Yu Darvish pitching against Munetaka Murakami with Samurai Japan. Murakami is one of the most exciting prospects in baseball, with his offensive dominance making waves overseas.

Murakami is only 23-years years old and likely a few years away from being made available to MLB teams. Based on what he has done in Japan and now against Darvish, the interest in him will only rise. The World Baseball Classic will serve as an opportunity to showcase his immense talent to the baseball world.

Talkin' Baseball shared the clip of the dinger hit by Murakami via Twitter.

Yu Darvish is not only one of the best pitchers on the San Diego Padres, but in the MLB as a whole. This may have only been practice, but it is still an impressive feat from Murakami. He is quickly becoming known for his home run swing and absurd power, which should only get better as he continues to develop.

Stars like Shohei Ohtani and Seiya Suzuki have proved that international players are capable of contributing at the MLB level immediately. In the past, some teams would fear stars from other leagues being able to make the transition to big league baseball. The proliferation of talent across the planet, which will be highlighted in the World Baseball Classic, is putting those fears to rest.

There is no shortage of fans and teams that want to see Murakami in their uniform in a few years' time. Assuming he performs well at the upcoming World Baseball Classic, that interest will only grow. By the time he comes to the MLB, he may very well already be an established star.

Yu Darvish may be on the unfortunate side of this highlight, but it brings an incredible amount of attention to Munetaka Murakami.

Baseball has long been a bastion of American sports, often referred to as "America's Pastime". In 2023, the USA no longer has a monopoly on baseball, which is a great sign for the growth of the game. Baseball is a fast-growing sport around the world, with new stars honing their craft every day.

The WBC will be a launching pad for many of these international stars to prove they can compete with the best the MLB has to offer.
