The Los Angeles Dodgers' injury woes continued with River Ryan out for the remainder of the season due to a right forearm injury. In Saturday's 4-1 win against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Ryan seemed in discomfort in the fifth inning and was shut down after he pitched 4.2 scoreless innings.

An MRI on Sunday revealed a right elbow injury, requiring him to be shut down for a while. There's also a possibility of Tommy John surgery down the line. The club announced Ryan would be ruled out for the season.

Upon learning the news, some MLB fans wished him well while others felt bad for the Dodgers, who were hit with another injury to a reliable starter.

Despite splurging billions in the offseason, the Dodgers still face the predicament of not having enough healthy players on the roster.

"Money can’t buy health apparently," one fan commented.
"Dodgers injury bug continues to haunt them," one fan added.
"Dodgers have had alot of pitching injuries, its not surprising at this point," another wrote.

Some found the pitching turmoil of the Dodgers to be hilarious.

"Why can’t the Dodgers catch a break with their pitching this season?" another added.
"Better prepare Mookie to pitch. Good hitters make good pitchers= dodger fan logic," one wrote.
"Dude dodgers have an entire bullpen and starting rotation on the IL. Insane," another wrote.

When River Ryan was grimacing in pain during the fifth inning of Saturday's game, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was quick to run out, asking for the pitcher's well-being before taking him off for precautionary measures.

“I don’t know the exact diagnosis, but his season is going to be over,” Roberts said via MLB.com. “I think they’re waiting on some other scans to figure out the exact course of action. Obviously right now, what I can say is his season is going to be over.”
“I think that we clearly don’t have the answers to taking care of pitchers and keeping them healthy,” Roberts added. “I think the industry is doing the best they can to manage workload, manage pitch count, but clearly, we don’t have it nailed. … It’s just unfortunate, because a lot of great talent is on the IL.”

With River Ryan out for the season, the Dodgers now hope for a positive return from Walker Buehler, who pitched some rehab assignments. Other starters, Landon Knack and Bobby Miller, could also be available.
