With the 2024 MLB season in the books, many players and their families are enjoying the offseason by indulging in other sports. Former Mets star and coveted free agent Pete Alonso's wife Haley enjoyed college football action over the weekend.
Haley shared a snapshot of her visit to Ohio in her Instagram story and one of her stories had a picture from the Ohio Stadium when Ohio hosted the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday. Haley has a special connection to the Wolverines as she studied journalism and political science at Michigan University.
Following the Wolverines' shock 13-10 upset over the No. 2 Ohio, things got heated between the two teams when the Michigan players tried to plant their flag on the OSU logo. A brawl broke out as Ohio players confronted their opponents. The players threw punches at each other as police used pepper spray to break the brawl.
Pete Alonso's wife Haley had a funny take on the all-out brawl between the two players after Saturday's game.
"The brawl was the most entertaining part of the game," she captioned one of her stories.
While Ohio State coach Ryan Day praised his players for not letting the Wolverines plant their flag, his opposite number, Sherrone Moore, highlighted the rivalry between the two teams.
“So much emotions on both sides,” he said. “Rivalry games get heated, especially this one. It’s the biggest one in the country, so we got to handle that better.”
