"Motherhood expectation vs. reality" - When Justin Verlander's wife Kate Upton revealed the reality of parenting behind social media filters

In November 2018, Houston Astros pitcher Justin Verlander and Kate Upton welcomed their first child, Genevieve. She was born three days after the couple's first wedding anniversary, which made the occasion more special.

However, parenting is hard and can shake up even the ones who believe they are the most prepared. That was no different here as Upton quickly discovered the frustrations of being a parent of a small child.

Back in 2021, the supermodel posted a picture on her Instagram depicting what she thought motherhood would be like to what it actually is.

With little ones, there is constant chaos throughout the day. Parents can feel trapped, almost as Upton was with Genevieve as they were both locked inside the dog cage.

This can be especially true for those married to professional athletes. During the MLB season, there are not many days where Verlander can stay at home and be in dad mode.

You also cannot forget Kate Upton's professional career as well. From her career in modeling and being an actress, she has a lot on her plate as well.

Justin Verlander spends much of his time thinking about baseball. The season takes up nearly half a year, especially if you make it deep into the postseason as Verlander has multiple times.

He has a strong passion and work ethic for the game and it shows. That is a reason why he is one of the very few pitchers who have three Cy Young Awards to their name.

However, that does not mean that has to be his only passion. Verlander is an avid golfer. It is something he enjoys doing and keeps up with the PGA when he is able to.

In 2021, the three-time Cy Young Award winner had his season put on the shelves. He underwent Tommy John surgery, which gave him plenty of time to watch golf, and spend time with Kate Upton and his daughter Genevieve.

He took that opportunity to teach his daughter how to play golf. She was out there with her plastic clubs as the family dog, Norman also enjoyed the fresh air. Given her genes, we may have the next top women's PGA Tour member coming up in a few years.
