“My experience from June will benefit me a little bit” - Yoshinobu Yamamoto on facing Yankees in Game 2 of the Fall Classic

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto will take the ball against the New York Yankees for Game 2 of the World Series. The hard-throwing righty feels good about the matchup, considering he pitched well against the Bronx Bombers in June.

Yamamoto threw seven shutout innings while striking out seven batters. That is quite impressive given just how elite the Yanks' batting order is.

Yamamoto was asked how he felt going into the series. The hard-throwing righty is more than ready to take the ball in Game 2 and help his club tackle the Yankees. Yamamoto said:

"I think the experience from June will benenfit me a little bit, but this is the World series, and the lineup might be different from June. I'm just going to study and get myself ready for the lineup."

Yamamoto will look back on his start in June but understands things could be different in this game. He plans to be ready for lineup changes to hitters taking a different approach.

The Yankees plan on giving the ball to Carlos Rodon to start Game 2. These are arguably two of the biggest starts in both of these pitcher's careers.

When coming to the MLB, Yoshinobu Yamamoto did not just want to sign with any team. He had goals coming over to America and wanted to put himself in the best position possible to achieve them.

That is why he chose to sign with the Dodgers. He wanted to pitch in the league's biggest games, and he gets his opportunity to do so on Saturday. Yamamoto said:

"I signed with the Dodgers because I really wanted to win, especially in my first year. I come this far and get to play on this big stage in the World Series with these great teammates."

Outside of his injury, this could not have been a better first season in the MLB for Yamamoto. There are plenty of elite players in the league who have never played in a World Series, let alone in their first season in the big leagues.

This is shaping up to be a World Series that fans will not want to miss a single pitch of. With how both lineups have looked this year, this could be a series of back-and-forth games to decide the champion.
