New York Mets fans aren't buying Buck Showalter's confidence in Darin Ruf: "Just DFA and get it over with", "The guy is cooked"

Darin Ruf has not had a good spring for the New York Mets. Coming into Thursday, he was hitting .130/.200/.174. He had three hits in 23 at-bats, which isn't what teams want from their first base/DH option.Even with his spring training slump, manager Buck Showalter isn't too worried about Ruf's production. While he hasn't been great in spring training games, he has been producing on the practice field.The Mets acquired Ruf at the trade deadline last season. They used him in the DH role, but he couldn't get the ball rolling. He hit .152/.216/.197 in the 28 games he appeared for the club.Ruf has been dealing with a wrist issue that has been bothering him for the past couple of seasons.
