On Wednesday, the New York Yankees and the Kansas City Royals entered Game 3 at Kauffman Stadium. With both teams holding a 1-1 record, the Royals had their home advantage with Seth Lugo on the mound as their starter.
The Yankees sent Clarke Schmidt to the mound. Both pitchers started well, as the offense from each side was unable to score in the first three innings. The Royals showed strong defense, but the Yanks prevailed as Giancarlo Stanton stepped in to drive the first run. Stanton drove Juan Soto home to get the Yanks board first with a 1-0 lead.
The Yanks continued their success by driving in another run, but the Royals fought hard and cut the score into half. Michael Massey had an RBI triple that helped the Royals to tie the game with a 2-2 score.
Aaron Boone removed Clarke Schmidt after 4.2 innings and sent in Clay Holmes. The Yanks' bullpen did a decent job of preventing the Royals from scoring more than two. Stanton stepped up to the plate in the eighth inning to smash a go-ahead solo shot to give them a 3-2 lead.

Giancarlo Stanton hit a home run tonight
Stanton did not hesitate to crank one deep to left field against Kris Bubic. The Yanks are just one game away from progressing to the ALCS.
The Royals must win both the remaining games to qualify for the ALCS. The winner of this series will either play the Detroit Tigers or the Cleveland Guardians. The Bronx Bombers will send in their ace Gerrit Cole to secure a win in Game 4 tomorrow.
The Royals will send Michael Wacha to the mound as their starter against Cole. It's going to be a tough battle as the Yanks remain the favorites to secure a win, especially with Cole on the mound. If they fail to win Game 4, both teams will return to Yankee Stadium for a possible Game 5.
Stanton was the player of the game, and his incredible home run helped the team win.
